Section 33 are back

Pop-up guerilla dining outfit Section 33 are back and this time they are working alongside Action for Children’s Moving On Project bringing delicious food to Glasgow and supporting a life changing project.  The Moving On Project assists young offenders aged 18-21 from all across Scotland helping them back into society and minimising the risk of re-offending.

Starting on 3rd May, for a 5-day pop-up, Section 33 will be working with the young men taking part in the project.  They will join the Section 33 kitchen to learn and experience kitchen life.  They will be planning, preparing and cooking at a high level as well as gaining transferable skills.

The dishes will be celebrating seasonal Scottish produce through a six-course tasting menu.  Alongside the delicious food, there will also be music from up-and-coming musicians.

Please give Action for Children and the Moving On Project your support, not to mention the 6 chefs making the food. Tickets go on sale on Sunday 9th April at 5 pm.  So keep and eye on twitter, or facebook or indeed sign up to their mailing list to be kept up to date on all of their events.

If you haven’t been to a Section 33 event, you must go.   We’ve been able to make the dates a couple of times – see here for the last time we made it, and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and the ethos. As you can see the food on offer is delicious with some twists and turns to keep everyone happy.   They pick great venues to have their pop-up events in, such as Britannia Panopticon and Govanhill Swimming Baths.

If you can’t make it along to the pop-up there is also the main YesChef event at the Hilton Glasgow with Hardeep Singh Kohli and Gina McKie.  This would make a great night out with a group of the ladies as there will be a drinks reception, six-course menu, entertainment and the opportunity to win prizes.  Click here for more information.
